What does SDS Explorer offer?
SDS Explorer offers a very simple, easy-to-use interface at an affordable price to both manage and deploy your SDS library. Providing you with an unlimited library size, unlimited number of users and administrators, unlimited number of exports and ongoing unlimited customer support all at no additional charge. The software is designed for OSHA Compliance, Employee Right to Know and SDS management. SDS Explorer does not fill out accident report forms, offer inventory control or recommend chemical alternatives. It will not assist with SARA Tier II or Form R reporting. Ease of use.
It makes no difference how big and powerful a software application is if it’s difficult to use. An employee simply looking in your library for PPE or hazard information likely has an inspector standing over their shoulder or more urgently, an employee is in trouble. With SDS Explorer, the end user can go to one single search field, type in anything they know about the chemical, and it comes right up. After all, isn’t that the real reason you are looking for a software solution in the first place?
What makes SDS Explorer so different?
Most competitors offer a business model which consists of a giant searchable database of SDS’s. After much searching (there are 350+ different safety data sheets for Windex™), users finally find their SDS record and are able to pull the SDS into their “binder”. The strength of this model, which is often conveyed to the end user is, this vendor has an army of people constantly updating their database of millions of SDS’s and yours will always be current.

Cost
An army of people updating a database of millions of SDS’s is incredibly expensive. With SDS Explorer, if you choose to have M3V Data Management update your library, the cost is $1.50 – $2.50 per SDS. You may also choose to update your library yourself in which no additional costs are incurred.
Time
If you search a database with millions of SDS’s for a specific chemical, expect to see hundreds of results per search. You must individually open each one to determine the right entry. This can take 30 – 45 minutes per chemical just to create your library.
Data Ownership
Using someone else’s library of SDS’s means that you are borrowing their property. With SDS Explorer, you have the capability to export all or any part of your library at no additional cost. You may also export data of your library to an excel sheet at any time. This makes a great tool to give to your local fire department so that in case of emergency, they are aware of your chemical inventory and locations on the chemicals within your facility.
Ongoing Support
M3V Data Management is the only vendor to offer free and unlimited training and technical support. It is to our advantage to ensure that you and your employees are comfortable with the software and know how to use it. We would rather have you call us 100 times a week, than to ever be frustrated with trying to utilize the software. Support can consist of a simple phone call or e-mail, but can also include on demand one on one webinars and/or group webinar training sessions. Really, there is no catch and we never want you to feel that you are left on your own.
Emergency Information
In the event of an emergency, what do you want to communicate to your employees? Yes, you want them to be able to quickly find and view an SDS. But beyond that, what do you want to tell them? Imagine this scenario…..it is after normal hours and someone has ingested a toxic chemical. Do they induce vomiting or will the risk of aspiration possibly ruin their lungs? Do they call 911? What is the phone number for the emergency room nearest to this facility? How can you show your emergency response plan to a first responder?
